Rewrite Cinderella from the POV of one of the step-sisters.

Irritated and devastated.

I couldn’t imagine that Cinderella recreate all that awful lies about me, my sister and my mother.
To be honest, we as a family did not treat her cruelly. We treat her fair just like how we treat her after our father passed away. We did give her a nice room, clothing, food and leisure. We did not ask her to clean the house, wear uncomfortable clothes or sleeping in the attic. That is all lies.

Cinderella demanded to sleep in the attic as she said her had wonderful memories there with our father. My mother will a heavy-heart has to go on with what she wants as she didn’t want her to think that she is being bias. Cinderella continued with her demands; to wear her old dress, clean the house like she did before with our father and not to be involved in family gatherings.

Let’s go on to the ball. We did inform Cinderella about the invitation and we ask her to come along.
But as usual she will reject our invite to bring her along to the ball. During the ball, I was speechless to see Cinderella in my new dress. I was really disappointed. My mother was shocked to see Cinderella in her new shoes. My mother just bought that shoe when she saw Cinderella wearing it. Although we were disappointed, we still feel annoyed and angry about the lies Cinderella made. We didn’t think that she would lie to us as we treated just like our own sister and daughter.

During the testing out of the glass slippers, I couldn’t believe my eyes that Cinderella changed to glass slippers to make it into her size. Cinderella purposely buy the same glass slipper but in her own size. When the prince approached our house and wanted to see Cinderella as she was the only girl left, she suddenly appeared. Devastated, we were. The prince passed the glass slippers to Cinderella. Cinderella then rushed into the house to the kitchen. I desperately need to use the toilet so I rushed to the kitchen toilet as it was nearer to the door. My steps suddenly stop to see Cinderella changing the glass slippers. I was in the greatest shock of my life to see Cinderella who I thought the nicest person in the house to be so evil and cunning. But I just kept it as my secret as I wouldn’t want my sister to face the consequences. Before our father left us, Cinderella has always blamed us for the things she had done wrong. She always make father believe her and not trust us. Although we are annoyed with her behavior, we believe she can change one day.

There you have it, all the truth from me. But I know, you will not trust this as you believe the stories that Cinderella has been telling you about. I don’t blame you guys. I know that she is the angel in everyone’s eyes. I just hope that the truth can be reveal soon!

Confession of a Shark.

SNAP! The sound created by my sharp teeth. There goes one of their family members. Looking at all the small fishes swimming away from me makes me feel big and powerful. Sharks are always being specified as the most dangerous sea animals. But they are wrong! Sharks like me are not dangerous we are just hungry and that is what we do to live.

What do humans know? They only know how to make stupid movies about us, sharks, being the bad ones. Humans create; Jaws, Shark Tale and many more describing us, sharks as killers. This is not fair as this is a biased account from everyone. They just believe what they are told but have they ever listened from the sharks view. No! They don’t. So how could they just assume that all sharks are bad?

As a shark, I believe that some of us are bad but there are also good and nice sharks. We do not just kill other fishes for our food but we also make friends with them. But trust me which animal, insect or humans will trust this phrase? Of course no one! As sharks, we are train be to be independent. When I was young, my parents will leave to find for my own food. We are thought to be fierce when we are young so that no other sea animals could bully us. Does this make sense to you all? Maybe all of you will say that I am just creating this fake lies, but I’m telling the truth. We from young are thought to face our own problems so this is what we do. Don’t get me wrong, we try to negotiate with them. We don’t just eat them unless we are hungry.

Every time I swim passed the fishes, they will always run away. But I don’t want to eat them, I just want to play but these fishes just don’t understand. They just assume. Shark like me are lonely sea animals who want to make friends with other animals but we are not accepted in the sea community. We, sharks, are clueless on what we can do to change everyone perception about us. I believe everyone should be given the second chance so why not give a second chance to a shark? If only people could change their perception, we do not have to react violently to all human or other animals.

(a) The girls were excited as they waited for the results.

Droplets of sweat rolled down their cheeks. The atmosphere was tense. The girls kept walking back and forth in the classroom waiting for the science teacher to bring in the result. Every girl has butterflies flying in their stomach and can’t wait for it to fly out. When the teacher stepped in the class, every girl moved back to their seats and only silence could be heard. The noise that could be heard is only the sound of each girl’s hearts pounding.

(e) She sat heart-broken on her bed.

She sat on her bed sobbing away. Her eyes swelled from continuous crying. Her blanket covered her body from head to toe. Her room was filled with torn pieces of love letters given by her boyfriend. The crumple tissue papers make the room messier. She can’t stop thinking of the words in the letters, “always be there for you.”

Went to work, never came back.

I sat on my comfortable couch while waiting patiently for my dearest husband. It was 1am in the morning but he hasn’t come home. I know he went outstation, but today is the day he is supposed to come home. Before he go, he said to me,

“Don’t worry dear; I will come home before you notice.”

But I don’t trust his words. My husband is not the kind of person who takes note of time. He will always over short the time given. One event that is still fresh in my memory is during my son’s birthday.

On that day, he was supposed to come at 12 midnight to surprise my son. But I know you can guess. He was late! Although my son was turning 2 years old, I know how he feels celebrating his birthday without his father.

From that day on, I know my husband is not the kind of person who keeps his word. But now, I’m worried sick about my husband who is 3 hours late. Questions keeping playing in my mind.

Where could he be at this time? Why is he so late? Could he forget about his promise?

I’m confused. Should I call him again? I think I should. I tried calling him, but he didn’t pick up my calls. I’m not sure what should I do now. I try to keep a positive mind. I tell myself that he is on the way home now. I try to make less noise as possible as I do not want to wake my son up. He is sleeping comfortably as he had spent a few hours waiting for his father. I still keep a clear mind.

Its already 3am but he still hasn't come home. I smell a rat. I have been waiting for him till the cows come home and I'm tired of just siting at home and waiting for him to call me. I decided to call his office but no one answer. By looking at the clock, I can tell the reason why no one pick my call. Its 3am, who on Earth will still be at work.

Suddenly the phone, I was anxious to know who called. At a drop of a hat, I pick up the phone. How devastated I was to know that I was a call from the hospital. The call change the atmosphere.
I become speechless. The call describe that the plane my husband board had face some operation trouble and crashed. Without wasting the time, I hurriedly grab my handbag and order my maid who was siting beside me to keep watch of my son. I quickly ran out of the house and took off with my car.

Upon reaching, I quicken my pace to the registration counter of the hospital. I went to the place directed to see my husband. How relief I was to see my husband still fit. He only get himself some minor injuries as he manage to escape before the plane crashed. My heart which was pounding before I meet my husband start to go to its normal speed. I was in seventh heaven to see my husband resting on the bed and I can't wait to see him open his eyes. But luck was on our side as my husband went to work and come home in the end....
